VinE Oxford Trip 2006
On the 2nd December 2006, we organised a trip to Oxford University. We have to thank 3 fellow victorians (Roshni, Jerald and Faiz who are students there) for bringing us around the different campuses. Our morning tour started with a walk around Keble College, and then in and around University Parks. We then explored the informative University Museum of Natural History.

Lunch was at the Covered Market, where many people headed for the popular Cornish pasty cafes and Ben's Cookies. The afternoon tour then continued with a walk about Sheldonian Theatre, which had a characteristic white dome Next was Radcliffe Camera, which was a characteristic building of Oxford, before dropping by Bodleian Library for a quick look. We then went into exploring St Edmund's Hall, which incredibly had graveyards in the garden! We were even told that they were real gravestones! Of course, we had to drop by Christchurch where one could find the 'Harry Potter Dining Hall'. Those who went in were in awe of the sheer size and interior designs of the hall. Shopping was on our itinerary as well, where Westgate Shopping Centre was the main shopping attraction. Cornmarket Street and High Street were also popular shopping areas.

We had pizza for dinner in a restaurant called Zizi's, which was along George's Street. We had to really thank Roshni for finding a restaurant large enough to fit 20-odd of us in there, which really was not easy. At the end of this whole trip, albeit the tired legs, we were glad that we had wonderful photos and memories to take away from Oxford!

VJ in London!
Sixty JC2 IP(Integrated Programme) students along with three teachers will be flying down to London in early June to tour the UK universities. These are the tentative dates they will be going around the universities:

29 May - Arrival in London
1 Jun - visit to UCL (am)
2 Jun - visit to LSE (am)
3 Jun - visit to Warwick (am)
6 Jun - visit to Imperial (am)
8 or Jun - travel back to Singapore
*Oxbridge will be included, details will be updated when I receive it.

Though it is the exam-season during their visit, it would be nice to have some of us Victorians to receive them when they arrive and join them on the tour of our respective universities. Further details will be put up when they come down.
